Scope & Objective :

  1. To provide a basic foundation of the fundamental principles and practices of Banking and Insurance and their application in practice.
  2. To enables the students gain a fair idea as to how these principles are applied in practices through live cases/examples published in paper and cited by lecturers.
  3. To equip the job-seekers to get into position of responsibility in the area of Financial services( as this would prove a definite advantages to the recruiters in term of time, cost and skill requirements)
Eligibility :

  • A Candidate for being, eligible for admission to the Degree Course in Banking & Insurance shall have passed XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt. Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent /affiliated college/recognized institution conducting the course, shall have to register himself/herself with the University.
Duration of the Course : 6 Semesters spread over 3 years. The Course shall consist of 40 Subjects.

The maximum number of students at the F .Y . & S.Y . & T .Y .B.&I . will be 60 at each Semester in the academic year 2009-10.

Scheme of Examination for Banking & Insurance :
The Scheme of Examination shall be divided in two parts. 

  1. Internal Assessment :- 40% i.e. 40 marks.
  2. Semester End Examination :- 60% i.e. 60 marks.
Passing Standards for Banking & Insurance :
The performance grading of the student shall be of the Seven point ranking system as under :-
