Scope & Objective :

The Technology is developing rapidly, learning a Computer Science is a necessary. Computer Science is an evergreen field. Keeping it in mind, the University of Mumbai has introduced B.Sc. and M.Sc. Computer Science. The Syllabus is designed as per Industry requirement. Now a days, there is no field remained where Computer is not used .So learning a Computer is must, without that we will be considered as illiterate. There is only one field in the world whose scope is unimaginable. Computer Science having so many sub fields, all the core and advanced subjects are designed in Syllabus of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Computer Science. By taking this degree we can work in Software Industry as Software Developer/Engineer, Software Programmer, System Analyst, Network Engineer, and Database Administrator, Testing Engineer etc.
Department of Computer Science in Birla College provides these courses having well equipped infrastructure, with well qualified professors. Department takes an effort to improve the quality of student by providing facilities, motivating and encouraging them for all types industry requirement. Department conducts several other activities to enhance the quality in students.
Eligibility :

A Candidate for being eligible for admission to M.Sc.Computer Science must have passed:- 

  •  The B.Sc (three year integrated course) degree Examination of this university with at least seven units (i.e. the minimum required for majoring in a subject) in that subject which he wants to offer for the M.Sc. degree course.

                                          OR

  • The B.Sc. (old four year course) degree Examination of this University.

                                         OR 

  • An Examination of another University recognized as equivalent there to Candidate who have passed the B.Sc. (old four year course) degree Examination of University for an Examination of another University recognized as equivalent thereto with the following combination of subject will be eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree course in the * Computer Science.

Scheme of Examination
  :
  1. Rules for conduct of FYand SY BSc Examination held by the the College on behalf of the University
    First and Second Term Examination:
    There shall be two examination, one at the end of each term and they shall Called First Term Examinations and Second Term Examinations respectively. Both term of equal duration. The First Term Examination shall be based on the portion of the syllabus be based on the portion of the syllabus taught in First Term and the Second Term, as prescribe by the Boards of Studies and approved by the Academic Council.
    The Practical Examination in a subject shall be held only once and before the end of Second Term.
  2. Schemes for papers without practical and papers with Practical Paper with and without practical Marks (60+60) =120
    First Term Examination Marks 60 (Duration 2 Hrs)
    Second Term Exam. Marks 60     (Duration 2 Hrs)

    (Marks secured at each term Examination are to be converted to marks out of 60 marks)
    Practical examination Marks 40 per paper
    * Paper without practical are converted to 80 marks and 20 mark for project.
